Buy with your VA benefit
Entitlement and what it affects
Why prior VA loans can change what is available to you.
6 minute read
The basic idea
- Entitlement is the part of the benefit that backs the VA guaranty on your loan.
- Entitlement is restored when the property is sold or the loan is paid in full.
When you have used it before
- If you have a current VA loan or have not restored entitlement, you may still have remaining entitlement, and county loan limits can apply.
- Your individual calculation belongs to VA and your lender. Request a COE and ask the lender to walk through it.
