PCS / Military Relocation

Start with the orders and report date

The report date drives the plan. It should not make every housing decision.

5 minute read

Anchor the plan

  • A PCS is a permanent change of station: a move to a new duty station, within the U.S. (CONUS) or overseas (OCONUS).
  • Write down the gaining installation, the report date and when the family needs to move.

Use the official tools

  • Plan My Move builds a custom checklist based on your current and gaining installations.
  • Vanguard education: the timeline sets the pace, but each housing decision still deserves its own look.
